The nation of Israel was blessed by God to have faithful men sent to warn, encourage, and proclaim the truth of events that would surely come to pass in the future. As the Old Testament comes to an end, these prophets foretold of the glory of the second temple, reproved the priest's for their shortcomings, and announced the coming of the Christ! For four hundred years after, divine revelations from the portals of heaven were nonexistent. Following this time of spiritual drought, as preparation leading to the next major event on God's calendar, was the birth of the Lord Jesus. With all the prophetic truth-telling, one would wonder why this event caught them off guard. But, it did, even to the point of their malicious disbelief, culminating in the crucifixion of the Lord! The New Testament begins with the most read Book of the Bible, Matthew! Being the first of the four Gospels, it boldly tells the wondrous story of God's gift of salvation given to man, in none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. His virgin birth, victorious life, vicarious death, burial and glorious resurrection are the centerpieces to which his life is revealed. Please enjoy reading the King James Bible daily and refresh these events for your spiritual development by taking the "Daily Bible Quiz!" If you have grown by availing yourself to this material, please share it with a family member, friend or your church family. Please be faithful to pray for our country... "One nation under God!"
